What We Do

We often get asked by the young people we work with 'what do you actually do? Just sit in that office and chat all day?'

Hopefully this page will enlighten those among our acquaintances who have a quizzical and curious nature...

As part of our work we liaise closely with members of staff and pupils within Shoebury High School in a supporting role. Life In Abundance staff are trained and available to deal with pastoral issues, and are asked frequently to take assemblies and to give lessons; especially concerning religious or moral issues. We run every Wednesday lunchtime a club in the school called The Well, which is a Christian discussion club where young people can ask questions about Christianity and explore their own faith while of course playing some games and sharing some tasty treats! yum yum!

Once a year we also offer young people from the area the chance to take part in EXTREME! Extreme is a community action project that encourages young people to love Shoebury and to love themselves! Its a fab four day event, make sure you check out our pics before you leave!

New to this year we also are running in conjunction with Shoebury Baptist church, Coffee and Calm. Coffee and calm is a coffee morning for the local community every Monday Morning from 9am - 11am. Its a great place for people to meet and hang out while accessing information about the help and support available in the local area. Its also a great place for parents who have children in the school to come and get more familiar with the school and to share any concerns or comments they have about their child's learning. We offer once a month senior leadership drop ins, teacher drop in sessions to help with homework concerns, local organisation support, including SureStart, Extended Schools and the community police team. All is free and all is welcome so please feel free to drop by.

Also in development for this year is our new "I LUV ME" program looking at young people's self worth and self esteem issues and encouraging them to see their true worth and to reach their true potential! We will keep you updated with this new adventure woo hoo!
